For those interested, a walk around the lake takes about 40 minutes. Štrbské Pleso—or Szczyrbskie Jezioro in Polish—is located at an altitude of 1346 m above sea level. Often compared to our Morskie Oko, the lake is surrounded by spruce forests, heavily damaged by a hurricane in 2004. This settlement has the status of a climatic health resort and is also a well-known ski resort.
