Discover Budapest
During the trip to Budapest, many attractions await us:
- Heroes' Square - Located at the end of the famous Andrássy Avenue, the square has been adorned since 1929 with the monumental Millennium Monument, symbolizing over a thousand years of Hungarian state history.
- Vajdahunyad Castle - Built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, Vajdahunyad Castle, like the Millennium Monument, was a symbol of the thousand years of Hungary. The building is characterized by great architectural diversity, as the author intended to combine twenty stylistically diverse castles, palaces, and churches into a coherent whole. The intention succeeded brilliantly, and today the castle is a must-see on any Budapest tour.
- Gellért Hill - The best viewpoint in Budapest owes its name to St. Gerard (Gellért), who allegedly ended his life here as a martyr in the mid-11th century. The massive hill is built with remnants of an Austrian fortress erected in 1850, crowned by a 40-meter Freedom Monument built after World War II. The entire site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Castle Hill - This is the oldest and most attractive part of Budapest. For centuries, it was the seat of Hungarian rulers, who spared no expense to show their wealth. The historic character of the city is most emphasized by the Royal Castle, whose origins date back to the 13th century, and the famous Matthias Church—one of the most beautiful temples in Hungary. Tourists are delighted not only by the monumental buildings but also by the streets of the Buda Old Town, full of charm and mystery.
- St. Stephen's Basilica - One of the most important Hungarian temples impresses not only with its power but also with its craftsmanship. A curiosity of the temple is the right hand of St. Stephen—the patron of the temple and the first king of Hungary.
- Parliament - The undisputed symbol of Budapest was built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. This neo-Gothic gem is still the seat of the Hungarian government, and the Hungarian coronation jewels are also stored here. The massive dimensions of the building (268 m x 123 m) make it not only one of the most beautiful but also one of the largest national parliament buildings in the world.
- Danube Cruise - At the end of the tour, you will have the opportunity to see the most attractive places in Budapest from the perspective of a ship. The cruise will be the perfect end to this exciting day.
